A day of Vision.

So the other day was an interesting one for me, as a sound engineer my job for the day was to operate a LED screen to provide a backdrop for the artists onstage.
Now this.... was.... fun....
I enjoyed every second of it, as I've always had a love for basically all things creative in media, and I have dabbled in creating video content in the past, a music video, creating a half decent live twitch stream for my gaming, etc.
But never had I ever been given freedom to create animated backgrounds utilizing nothing but an artists logo before, needless to say I thought I did a pretty damn good job. A few of the visuals I created where probably a little over the top once I sent them to the big screen so they were quickly dismissed in favour of simpler ones. Something as small as a very lightly and slowly moving logo bouncing around the screen with an overlay of old film makes for easily dynamic eye catching yet simple visuals that don't drag the eye away from the focal point of the performers on stage. But using this big screen I was also able to capture some neat visual moments by taking the artists logo during more upbeat or louder songs and give it an animated Picasso treatment, (something I found ridiculously cool).
All in all it was a fantastic opportunity for me to get hands on and really start scratching the surface of a program I have wanted to learn for a long while, while providing something a little more eye catching than a static backdrop. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a static backdrop when used correctly, I just personally love having even a little bit of animation or movement to create some simple yet effective.
I realized extremely quickly that this program I was using is insanely powerful below the surface, and the content you can create with it can be absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to get my hands on it again, very fun indeed.
As a sound guy to any vision guys out there, I actually envy the fun you get to create with these things.

Loving these AI images right now haha.
Until next time.
